R12.2/R12/11i Common log file locations

I have worked on Oracle Apps Version 11i, R12.0 , R12.1 and R12.2. Each of these has fixed location for log files.
Apps DBA is supposed to know those location so that troubleshooting and monitoring can be done.

I am giving here the logfile location for all these version which can be lot of help to APPS DBA

11i Common Logfile location

Database Tier Logs are

Alert Log File location:( This is set as per Database Version)
$ORACLE_HOME/admin/$CONTEXT_NAME/bdump/alert_$SID.log
or
$ADR_BASE/diag/rdbms/{DB-name}/{SID}/alert
(ADR_BASE is set by diagnostic_dest parameter)


Trace file location: ( This is set as per Database Version)
$ORACLE_HOME/admin/$CONTEXT_NAME/udump
or
$ADR_BASE/diag/rdbms/{DB-name}/{SID}/alert
(ADR_BASE is set by diagnostic_dest parameter)

Database Tier Autoconfig files:
$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/DDMMTime/adconfig.log

Application Tier Logs

Start/Stop script log files location:
$COMMON_TOP/admin/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/

Apache, Jserv, JVM log files locations:
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/ssl_engine_log
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/ssl_request_log
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/access_log
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs/error_log
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/JServ/logs

Concurrent log file location:
$APPLCSF  or $PRODUCT_TOP/$APPLLOG( if $APPLCSF is unset)

FNDSM log file location:
$APPLCSF/$APPLLOG/FNDSM*log  or $FND_TOP/$APPLLOG/FNDSM*log( if $APPLCSF is unset)

Adpatch log file location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log

adWorker Log file location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log

adadmin Log file location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log

AutoConfig log files location:
Application Tier:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$CONTEXT_NAME/log//DDMMTime/adconfig.log

R12.0/R12.1 Common Logfiles location

The log files are located in $LOG_HOME ($INST_TOP/logs) in  Oracle Applications R12

Database Tier

Logs for the adpreclone.pl are located:

$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/StageDBTier_<timestamp>.log

Logs for the adcfgclone.pl are located:

RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/ApplyDBTier_<timestamp >.log

AutoConfig log files location:

RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/<timestamp>/adconfig.log
RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/log/$CONTEXT_NAME/<timestamp >/NetServiceHandler.log

Application Tier

Apache Logs (10.1.3 Oracle Home which is equivalent to iAS Oracle Home - Apache, OC4J and OPMN)

Location for Apache Error and Access log files
$LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/Apache

location for j2ee(OACORE ,FORMS ,OAFM) related log files
$LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/j2ee

location for opmn related log files
$LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/opmn

Forms & Reports related logs (10.1.2 Oracle home which is equivalent to 806 Oracle Home)
$LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.2/forms
$LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.2/reports

Services Startup/Shutdown Log files location:
$INST_TOP/logs/appl/admin/log

adpatch log files location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log/

adWorker Log file location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log

adadmin Log file location:
$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/log

Logs for the adpreclone.pl are located:
$INST_TOP/admin/log/StageAppsTier_<timestamp>.log

Where the logs for the admkappsutil.pl are located?
$INST_TOP/admin/log/MakeAppsUtil_< timestamp >.log

Logs for the adcfgclone.pl are located:
$INST_TOP/admin/log/ApplyAppsTier_< timestamp >.log

Logs for the Autoconfig are located:
$INST_TOP/admin/log/<timestamp>/adconfig.log
$INST_TOP/admin/log/<timestamp>/NetServiceHandler.log

Concurrent log file location:
$APPLCSF  or $PRODUCT_TOP/$APPLLOG( if $APPLCSF is unset)

FNDSM log file location:
$APPLCSF/$APPLLOG/FNDSM*log  or $FND_TOP/$APPLLOG/FNDSM*log( if $APPLCSF is unset)

R12.2 Common Logfiles location

Many  log files are located in $LOG_HOME ($INST_TOP/logs) in  Oracle Applications R12.2


Database Tier

Application Tier

R12.2 has Fusion Middleware Stack

Log files for OPMN and OHS processes:
$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/instances/<ohs_instance>/diagnostics/logs/OPMN

$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/instances/ <ohs_instance>/diagnostics/logs/OHS

Log files for weblogic node manager:

$FMW_HOME/ wlserver_10.3/ common/ nodemanager/ nmHome1/ nodemanager.log

Log file for Admin server
$EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer/logs/log

Log Files for Weblogic Managed Servers(oacore_server1,forms_server1,oafm_server1)

$EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/logs/
$EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/oacore_server1/logs/ : oacore logs in r12.2
$EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/forms_server1/logs/ : forms logs in r12.2
$EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/servers/oafm_server1/logs/ : oafm logs in r12.2


Forms & Reports related logs (10.1.2 Oracle home which is equivalent to 806 Oracle Home)

Startup/Shutdown Log files location:
$INST_TOP/logs/appl/admin/log

ADOP log file location in r12.2:
$NE_BASE/EBSapps/ log/adop/<adop_session_id>/<phase>_<date>_<time>/<context_name>/log

adadmin log location in r12.2:
$NE_BASE/EBSapps/log/adadmin/log

Logs for the adpreclone.pl are located:
$INST_TOP/admin/log/StageAppsTier_<timestamp>.log

Where the logs for the admkappsutil.pl are located?
$INST_TOP/admin/log/MakeAppsUtil_<timestamp>.log

adcfgclone log file location r12.2:
$COMMON_TOP/clone/bin/CloneContext_*.log

autoconfig log file location in r12.2:
$INST_TOP/admin/log/<timestamp>/adconfig.log
$INST_TOP/admin/log/<timestamp>/NetServiceHandler.log

Concurrent Manager Logfiles

$NE_BASE/inst/<CONTEXT_NAME>/logs/appl/conc/log

$NE_BASE/inst/<CONTEXT_NAME>/logs/appl/conc/out

RAPIDWIZ location
Before the installation starts:
$TMP/<MMDDHHMM>/<MMDDHHMM>.log
$TMP/<MMDDHHMM>/<hostname>_<SID>.xml 
$TMP/<MMDDHHMM>/<hostname>_apps.xml

The Rapidwiz Configuration File is saved in the following four locations:
$TMP/<MMDDHHMM>/conf_<SID>.txt
Primary $INST_TOP/conf_<SID>.txt
Secondary $INST_TOP/conf_<SID>.txt
<RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME>/appsutil/conf_<SID>.txt

Preinstall System Check Logs:
$TMP/<MMDDHHMM>/<MMDDHHMM>.log
$TMP/dbPreInstCheck.xxxxx.log
$TMP/wtprechk.xxxx/wtprechk.xxxx.log
<Global Inventory>/logs/installActions.log

Main Logs for Database
$ORACLE_HOME/temp/$CONTEXT_NAME/logs
$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/out/$CONTEXT_NAME
<Global Inventory>/logs/

Main Logs for Application
$APPL_TOP/admin/$CONTEXT_NAME/log

OPP manager log file location in 11i/R12.1/R12.2

$APPLCSF/log//FNDOPP####.txt
OR
(1)System Administrator > Concurrent > Manager > Administer
(2)Search for ‘Output Post Processor’
(3)Click the ‘Processes’ button .
(4)Click the Manager Log button. This will open the ‘OPP’ log file

workflow mailer log file location in 11i/R12.1/R12.2

ls -lrt $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG/FNDCPGSC*.txt
The correct file to be looking at is the one containing a line such as : “SVC-GSM-WFMLRSVC : oracle.apps.fnd.cp.gsc.Logger.Logger(String, int) : Logging to System.out until necessary parameters are retrieved for Logger to be properly started.”
