Step by Step instructions for Oracle Virtual Box Installation

VirtualBox is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use

VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and Solaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10), DOS/Windows 3. x, Linux (2.4, 2.6, 3. x and 4. x), Solaris and OpenSolaris, OS/2, and OpenBSD.

VirtualBox 5.2.8 platform packages can be downloaded from Virtualbox official site
Windows hosts

Linux distributions
Solaris hosts

Now let’s see the steps for the installation of VirtualBox 5.2.8 on Windows

  1. Download the exe from the link and log in to your PC as a user with Administrator privileges and launch the exe file
  2. Oracle Virtual Box Installation
  3. click Next
  4. Oracle Virtual Box Installation
  5. Click Next
  6. Oracle Virtual Box Installation
  7. Click Next
  8. Oracle Virtual Box Installation
  9. Click Yes
  10. Click Install to start the Virtual Box installation
  11. Window security pops might come, please choose
  12. Click Finish to start the VirtualBox

Below Virtual Box window will open

Now you can create a Virtual Machine and done install the OS on it or you can use a VM template to get the VM running.  Oracle provides VM templates for the following products
